Visto che oggi il meteo non è dalla mia parte – sta diluviando! – ne approfitto per raccontare di Dumbo, il quartiere di Brooklyn che si estende sotto il Manhattan Bridge. Dumbo è un acronimo che significa “down under the Manhattan bridge overpass” e descrive perfettamente la caratteristica del posto: molti edifici si trovano proprio sotto il ponte ed camminando per strada si può vedere il Manhattan Bridge sopra la propria testa. Lo scorso fine settimana Dumbo è stato molto affollato grazie al Dumbo Arts Festival, e grazie al boss M che mi ci ha portata c’ero anch’io!

Because of the bad weather – it is raining buckets! – I’ll tell you something about Dumbo, the Brooklyn neighborhood that is under the Manhattan Bridge. Dumbo is an acronym that means “down under the Manhattan bridge overpass” and it represents perfectly this place’s feature: many buildings are under the bridge and if you walk down the streets you can see the Manhattan Bridge above your head. Last weekend Dumbo was very crowded because of the Dumbo Arts Festival, and   I was there as well thanks to the boss M that took me there!
